 Strength-

For this image we wanted to see how we could show strength but without using the stereotypical images (eg. showing muscles or lifting weights). After brainstorming and searching college for location we found a nice bookcase near some offices. We thought that strength doesn't just have to be physical it can be intellectual as well. So this image represents how someone could be particularly stronger when comes to academic studies. In terms of shot length and angle. We used a medium shot which shows only the waist up. This allowed us to capture the body language and emotion. As we can see the girl is holding books which shows her strength but also she is looking straight at the camera with a natural expression which shows how she is not bragging or showing off. We used a straight on angle to imply that being strong in words and knowledge is normal. Also this angle makes the girl look proud.

Loneliness-

This image explores Loneliness. For this image we looked at how someone who is lonely may feel then we brainstormed how we can show that within an image. We focused on the idea of  loneliness can make someone feel like they are in a darkroom . We used a phone torch to shine a tiny amount of light to the girls face. This can not only show loneliness due to her not having anyone around. But also could show that she wants to escape the loneliness and get out of there. The phone being the only light source in the image makes the dark background much more impacting. For this image we used a medium close up shot allowed us to show her facial expression which we can see is very natural and bland which again shows loneliness. We had the girl look at the camera but making sure she looked towards the right side of the camera this made it look like she was looking for a way out of  the darkness. This could represent her longing to find a friendship.

Love-

Love doesn't just have to be holding hands and hugging. Love can be an passion about something or about something that impacts us daily. To show this we used a phone and keyrings that all have members of a K-pop band on. Someone in our group adores this band and we wanted to show that off. To do this we placed the phone slightly of centre and then placed the keyrings beside the phone. for this shot we used a close up shot this was to insure that the got all the details from the photo and keyrings. To help us to do this we also used a birds eye view. However we made the angle slightly off centre (canted angle) to symbolise that love isn't always straightforward.

Poverty-

For this image, we utilized props in this image to get our point across quicker. We went for the stereotypical views of poverty and used a 2p to symbolise the lack of money. Also the positioning of hands could imply begging and how people who are experiencing poverty sometimes have no choice but to beg. We also focused on what was in the background to see how we could tie it in with poverty. Eventually we found a patch of discoloured and dead grass which could represent how when a place or a person is in poverty it can then begin to effect nature. In terms of angles we thought a birds eye view would benefit the photo as we wanted to ensure that we had the grass in the background. We used an extreme close up for this image as we wanted to focus on the 2p mainly but also the hands make the 2p seem really small which could be another connotation of poverty and the fact that someone may feel really small when experiencing poverty.

Fear-

For this image we used a wide shot this is because we wanted to show how fear is not only an emotion it can a physical place. For this we used an alleyway because they are creepy and stereotypically a lot of crimes especially sexual offences happen down alleys. so by showing a place like this the audience automatically can associate the fear. Also for this image we thought about positioning of the model. so we used a medium shot and made the model sit in the centre of the shot. this allowed use to capture the model and the background. To show fear we made the model curl up in and hide but have just her eyes on show to suggest how she is trying to get rid of the fear  but fear sometimes can be to strong.

Desire-

Desire means something we want or wish we had. This could be anything from family to the latest tech. We focused on how society is influenced by technology and how as soon as companies like apple or Samsung release a new phone people immediately throw their money at them to ensure they have latest tech. But some people are not so lucky. We wanted to focus on how not everyone can have the latest stuff. For this photo we used an over the shoulder shot with an slight canted angle. We used and over the shoulder shot so we could focus on mainly the phone box but still getting the model in shot. the over the shoulder shot makes us imagine what the girl is feeling as the angle is almost  POV.

Danger-

For this image, we thought about how we could show danger. the first thing we instantly thought of was height which led us to using a low angle. As this then makes the model seem a lot higher then she actually was. Which can also make her look powerful. Her body language helps shows danger and a bit of fearlessness due to the fact that she is not holding on to the bars. We used the prop of a climbing frame to represent danger as well as the bars that she is standing on are very thin and if she slipped she could be injured. To help us show danger we used a wide shot as it was very important to get the models whole body in the shot as well as the climbing frame.

Wealth-

wealth can come in many forms (money and knowledge) for our image we focused on the money side of things. We used watches and gold coloured jewellery as watches normally suggest wealth due to big watch brands like Rolex being very expensive. Also the shine from the watch and earrings shows how clean and maintained they are which could show wealth with the simple fact that the owners can afford to maintain the jewellery to a showroom standard. for this image we used a canted angle as we wanted to ensure that we got the shine from the watch correct. to compliment this we used a slight close up in order to get detail but we also wanted background to be a bit blurry so the shine was the main focus.

Weakness-

Weakness can come both physically and mentally. However, we focused on the physical side of weakness. We wanted to represent this differently from the stereotypical lifting of weights. so we decided to use cups. One of the models is holding a very small cup whereas the other model is holding 4 cups which shows she is stronger. For this image we used a straight on medium shot this was so we could focus on the cups. Using a medium shot means that its just the models and their cups and not much of the background which can cause distraction.

Friendship-

For this image , we didn't want to do the stereotypical hugging image so we decided that we would stand on the stairs and smile .As friendship doesn't have to be just hugging it can be just hanging out or even studying together. We used a low angle to make the relationship seem close. We utilized the stairs to get make the models higher up which would allow a low angle to be more effective.

Purity-

for purity we looked around the idea of freedom and then brainstormed to see what freedom means to different age ranges. We based our image on childhood and how when we was younger we felt free when we was at the park and on the swings and slides. As it allowed us to imagine situations and have fun like we was in completely different world. for this image we used a long shot so we could get not only the model in but also the swing as it gives the image context. we also focused on the models facial expression. the model is smiling to show happiness and innocence.

Greed-

for greed we wanted to focus on the different types of greed eg money, tech and food. we focused on greediness that food can bring. for this image we utilized food that was in the cupboards which was mainly crisps so we threw them on the floor and sat the model behind them. Also by looking at the models face you can see that she is quite content with her crisps and that she has no intention to share which makes her greedy. In terms of angles and distances we used a long shot to ensure that her whole body was in the shot and that we could get all the crisps in the shot as well. we used a slightly high angle to show that even though she looks content she actually is a bad person and that something bad could happen.
